As Christians, we have God-given wisdom to resolve disputes between us.

 

1. Disputes That Involve the Courts. 6:1, 4, 6, 7

 

 

 

2. Reasons NOT to Resolve Disputes between Believers in the Courts

 

· The Lord’s people will judge the world. 6:2

· The Lord’s people…will judge angels. 6:3

· Going to court is asking for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church. 6:4-5

 

· Going to court is a poor testimony to unbelievers. 6:6

 

· Going to court is living in defeat. 6:7-8

3. How to Resolve Disputes 6:1-5

 

·We welcome and obey the Holy Spirit in our lives and in our church.

·We speak life-giving words to each other.

·We build each other up in love.

·We listen with humility to understand.

·We clothe ourselves in humility toward one another in love.

·We give up the right to take offence.
