Together

The past year and a half has revealed deep fractures in the fabric of our society. Polarization, skepticism, and division have been the norm. It’s easier to see what separates us as people rather than what binds us together. The church faces this challenge, too. Yet, the grace of Jesus binds people together in a way that overwhelms and overcomes division. The church is called to be a counter-culture, demonstrating what it means to be united by the Holy Spirit on mission for Jesus. Paul writes in Ephesians that we are both completely united in Christ and that we are to work out our unity in day-to-day life. The unity of the church is therefore an accomplished fact and a task to be worked out. That’s our call. That’s our challenge. To truly be - together.
