Matthew 5:4

SERMON NOTES

Through mourning, God transforms our grief into grace

1. Mourning & the Weight of Sin (2 Cor. 7:10, Luke 6:25, Ps. 119:136)

2. The Promise of Comfort (Ps. 34:18, Eccl. 7:4, Rev. 21:4, Ps. 30:5)

a) God’s Comfort is Personal

b) God’s Comfort is Transformative

c) God’s Comfort is Certain

3. Grief can become a Gift (Rom. 8:18, Isa. 35:10)

For Further Reflection: What grief are you currently carrying—and how might God be inviting you to bring it honestly into his presence? In what ways might mourning—over personal sin, broken relationships, or the pain of the world—be a doorway through which God is shaping your heart for his Kingdom? Where do you need to trust that God’s comfort is already at work in your grief, even if healing or resolution has not yet come?

Why Give?

When we give, we're supporting His work. It is an act of worship for His generosity and all that He has given to us.

If you're visiting us, please do not feel obligated to give. We mainly rely on the support of those who call Ross Road Community Church their home.
