The Lamb of God

Mary Had a Little Lamb is a popular nursery rhyme that has nothing to do with Christmas but is actually an apt description of what happened when Jesus was born, given that Jesus would be called the “Lamb of God” who would give his life to overcome sin.

The Suffering Servant

Suffering and Christmas may seem like opposites but the first Christmas story contains suffering within it—just like our stories do. Jesus takes on the identity of the “Suffering Servant” and is therefore able to help us in our suffering.

Son of Man
