Sexual Immorality

Corinthian argument 1: “I have the right to do anything.” (V 12)

Truth: Indulging sinful desires is not freedom, it is slavery

Corinthian argument 2: “The body is made for sex”

Truth: Sexual Immorality harms our body

Theological Point: Our bodies were made to be united with God.

That affects what we do.

That gives us the power to overcome sin.

Advice: Flee Sexual Immorality

Questions for consideration: Do you have any arguments to rationalize your sin? God lives in you; list 5 ways that should affect your life. What does it look like for you to flee (sexual) immorality? Why is it important to focus on the good news of Christianity rather than good advice?
