The Cross of Jesus Christ

The crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ are the pinnacle of the wisdom of God—a wisdom that seems like foolishness to many yet leads us to new life forever.

The cross has always produced offence in both religious and secular people alike. One of the reasons why is because the cross was such a shameful way to die—yet the Christian claim is that the salvation of the world comes through this shameful event.

The cross of Jesus Christ stands at the centre of the Christian faith and at the centre of human history. There is a universal tendency for us to do away with the cross but when we study the Scripture we quickly realize that we cannot do so.
