What about you?  What’s the first thing you think of when you think about God?  Does he have a smile on his face, or is he scowling?  Are his eyes full of love, or is He shaking His head at you?  Does He like you, or is He simply tolerating you?  Is He approachable, or are you afraid of Him?

One of the ways that the Scriptures help us to know God is by describing Him with pictures, metaphors, and analogies that help us to grasp an incomprehensible God. These relatable pictures help us understand parts of who God is and help us to correct the ways we misunderstand Him.
