We believe that worship is not primarily for our benefit, but for the Lords. We worship to minister to him.
And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord…these I will bring to my holy mountain. Isa 56.6
We believe that God is not impressed by our musical ability, but rather by the inner music of a genuinely grateful heart.
He who brings thanksgiving as his sacrifice honours me; Ps 50.23
We believe that we need to be self-reflective in approaching worship. If we have done anyone harm, God prefers we set that right before offering him praise.
If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the alter and go; first be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift. Mt 5.23-24
The Space: We gather in a circle with the musicians part of the circle.
The Musicians: Music is mainly acoustic without amplification. Players support and never detract from the sound of voices in worship.
The Songs: The songs are original and shared freely by Christian song writers from the local community.
The Program: There is no pre-arranged set list. Anyone who feels the Spirit’s leading may suggest a song.
Expressions of Gratitude: People are invited to participate by sharing events in their lives that cause them to feel grateful to God. They are also free to read aloud passages of scripture.
Staying Focused: Because the focus of “Come To Give” is to minister to God, this gathering is not for lengthy testimonies or prayer requests.
(Private prayer & counsel is available afterwards if needed.)
