Awana is an age-based ministry with curriculum aimed to reach kids and families with the gospel of Jesus. On Wednesday nights during the school year, children learn how to memorize God’s Word, study the Bible, and apply it to their lives while having fun at the same time! They also learn about worldwide missions and the need to help others. Here at Ross Road Community Church, we offer Awana clubs for three age groups:

  • Cubbies: Ages 3 & 4
  • Sparks: Kindergarten through Grade 2
  •  T&T (Truth & Training): Grade 3-5

Scroll down for more information on these clubs.

Youth in Grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate in Awana as well.  Youth can serve as Student Leaders and/or work through curriculum designed specifically for them.

Cubbies
Ages 3-4

Cubbies displays the greatness of God's character to preschoolers who are constantly asking questions! The curriculum is a study of the basic Bible truths along with preschool concepts of colours, shapes, numbers and letters. Parental involvement is essential for success as the children progress through their books.

Sparks
Kindergarten to Grade 2

Sparks ignites the curiosity of kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom of knowing Christ. Kids earn rewards for memory verses and service projects, participate in games designed to teach cooperation and teamwork, and study biblical truth through the adventures of Sparky the Firefly and his friends. Kids work at their own pace, with plenty of extra credit available for those who complete their books early.

Truth & Training (T&T)
Grade 3- Grade 5

T&T takes kids on a journey to know God and His Word, love and need their Saviour, and live out their faith in an ever-changing world around them. They progress as a group through one of four handbooks. Extra credit sections are available for those wanting to challenge themselves to do more. Kids are rewarded for memorization, understanding and application of biblical truths.
