Jeremiah 29:7 “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

God invites His people to seek the peace and flourishing of the places they live. This week, we want to do just that by praying through the streets of Abbotsford.

Together, we’re aiming to pray for at least 300 streets across our city, asking for God’s kingdom, peace, and blessing to come to our neighbourhoods. And the people who call them home.

Covering 300 streets will take all of us. Many people will choose to pray for more than one street, and that’s one of the ways we can do this together.

You’re welcome to sign up for 2, 3, or more streets using the same name and email address.

Would you be willing to commit to praying for one or more streets? Click here to select your street(s) on the map (you can zoom in if needed) by clicking here:

What does a prayer walk look like?

A prayer walk is just a way to pray for the people in our city.  You don’t even need to literally walk. You can drive, use a wheelchair, or even use Google Street View to pray along your street.

As you “walk,” just pray for what God prompts you to:

  • a home and want to pray for God’s salvation to come to them.
  • Toys in a front yard prompt you to pray for the safety of kids who play with them.
  • A church prompts you to pray for it to spread the gospel,
  • See an individual walk by and pray for their peace and hope.

You can do this individually, with a friend, or invite the whole family.

We invite you to pray for multiple streets this week. You could pray for one each day or set aside a time on the weekend to pray for multiple streets.
