Our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus.

That includes you. That means we want to help you grow spiritually. Unfortunately, many Christians feel “stuck” in their faith.

That’s why we developed a discipleship pathway to empower you to take that next step.

At Ross Road, there are about 40 different ministries or tools that are offered to achieve this.  If anyone tried to do all of them, they would be left exhausted and as a result probably less Christ-like with no time to invest in neighbours or do personal disciplines.

We don’t expect everyone to be involved in everything, but we want to invite each person to say yes to what will help them take the next step in their spiritual journey. This may mean saying no to something they were saying yes to in the past.

Following Jesus isn’t linear like the path makes it seem. We need to go back to the basics from time to time to solidify our foundations as we try to grow in new ways closer to Jesus. What is your next step?

If you want to find out more about our discipleship pathway or to help you discern which stage you are in, you can see our DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY series below.

EXPLORING CHRIST

BY DISCOVERING TRUTH
    1. Sunday Service
      1. Each Sunday we gather to connect, celebrate what God has done and glorify him. Since there is no formation without repetition, it is important to commit to coming to church regularly. If you don’t consistently attend Sunday Service we invite you to do so. Here is some more information on how to do that.
    1. Groups
      1. Groups seek to help you connect, feel loved, and follow Jesus in your everyday life. They meet during the week in groups of 6-14 people and are a primary way in which we live out our faith. Find out how to join a group today.
    1. Demographic Based ministries
      1. Young or old, male or female. We want to help you get connected. Sometimes that is best done with people who are similar to us in age or gender. Each group operates slightly differently to adapt to their demographic. To see all of these and how to get connected, check out our ministries page here.

GROWING IN CHRIST

BY PRACTICING DISCIPLINES
  1. Baptism and Membership
    1. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be part of a community of people to advance God’s Kingdom of love and peace. Baptism is a symbol that we are saved from our sins and into God’s family of believers. To take either step, check out our baptism and membership pages here.
  2. Discover the Word Series
    1. The Bible is God’s revelation of himself and his redemption story to us. Therefore, learning to read the Bible well is an important step to getting to know God and in our discipleship to him. We have a series of booklets called Discover the Word, to help you do that. Find out more here.
  3. Being Mentored
    1. Life is hard and no matter how long you have lived, you will face challenges. Mentors are people who walk beside you and point you to Jesus. They encourage, challenge, and help you through your life. Each person is different so each mentoring relationship is different but all of them connect regularly to help you follow Jesus, in whatever season of life you are in. If you are interested in a mentoring relationship, talk with Bobby to help you get connected with someone.

MATURING IN CHRIST

BY LIVING ON MISSION
  1. Prayer Ministry
    1. Prayer is simply the medium through which we communicate and commune with God. The practice of prayer is learning to set aside dedicated time to intentionally be with God, in order to become like him and partner with him in the world. Since prayer is something we do, the best way to grow in it is to actually do it. This happens individually and in groups. We have prayer initiatives throughout the year, stay tuned to our events to find these. Also, we have a weekly prayer meeting on Thursdays at 1 on Zoom. If you want to know more about this, contact Bobby.
  2. Serving in Ministries
    1. While God is sovereign, he invites us to partner with him in brining his kingdom of love, joy, and peace to the world. God has given you spiritual gifts to help make that happen. There are many ways you can do that in your community or at Ross Road. We invite you to join us in helping people find and follow Jesus by serving in one of our ministries.
  3. Altar Worship Service
    1. Gather with us for an evening of worship and encounter with God. Stay tuned to our events page to find our next Altar Worship Experience.

ABIDING IN CHRIST

BY HUMBLY SUBMITTING
  1. Leading a Care Group
    1. If you are a follower of Jesus who wants to grow in your faith and help others do the same, you have what it takes to start a group! You can play a part in helping people connect, grow spiritually, and impact the world. Contact Bobby to find out more and what your next step would be.
  2. Mentoring Others
    1. Earlier we mentioned being mentored but for that to happen, we need spiritual mentors. Mentors don’t have it all figured out but they allow God to use them to point others to God. They listen well, ask questions, and share personal opinions to invite people to Respond to how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives. To become a mentor, contact Bobby.
  3. Elders
    1. Our Elders offer the spiritual and organizational governance of Ross Road. They have developed the character needed to lead others in a growing relationship with God. If you are interested in becoming an elder. Contact Craig HERE
